Best crab sandwich! After a walk along the embarcadero, this was the perfect place to stop for lunch. Easy, fast, and delicious! Great service and great price!

After dining at a nearby restaurant, but not being satisfied with the seafood we ordered, I decided to buy a Lobster Roll from one of the neighboring vendors. When I approached the gentleman behind the counter and asked him, "Do you have the best Lobster Roll? I flew all the way from Hawaii for this." He looked and me and said, "I guess...I don't eat seafood". I chuckled and bought the Lobster Roll anyways. The Lobster Roll was absolutely delicious. Packed with chunky pieces of lobster with mayo, garnished with a lemon. Lemon adds a nice, refreshing element to the roll. Only sad thing is that these Lobster Rolls are served cold. I was expecting a nice, warm toasted roll with lobster. I got an icy cold sammy straight out of the case. I ended up just eating the lobster pieces with lemon and tossed out the bun. Before I left, he warned me...be careful for the seagulls. They will go after your food. Good advice.

This is my go to for lobster sandwiches for sure. I used to get their lobster and crab sandwich, but they stopped doing that sadly. They are very nice, and the last time I went they gave us extra lobster pieces. The sandwich is delicious as the bread is buttery which is a great combo with the seafood. You really can't find too many sandwiches like these other than in the city. It is pricey but it is worth it. My family always come to this stand for their sandwiches.

If you come to San Francisco, you have to eat at Fisherman's Wharf. Guardino's is the first restaurant in the strip of seafood stands, as it's hard to choose which one to go to. The prices and appearances of the food are all about the same. I tried the Rock Crab and Shrimp Sandwich ($9.75). There was a lot of crab and shrimp, but just as much mayonnaise. The bread roll is also a lot and dense too, so all in all it's quite filling. Make sure it hasn't been sitting there a while ... you never know. Beware of the seagulls and birds if you are holding food, they attack in flocks! One will distract you, while the other will knock it out of your hand, and the others will swarm the ground for food.

Even if you have never been to Guardino's, you won't have a hard find time finding it. Just look for the food stalls around Fisherman's Wharf and find the one with the longest line. That's Guardino's! Of course, they do sell clam chowder here but that's not the reason why we came here. The must have item here is the overstuffed crab and lobster salad sandwich! Kind of pricey as we paid a whopping $21 for this sandwich. But with the generous amount of lobster they put in? It's so worth it! The lobster they put in that sandwich is the real thing, not the imitation ones. The sandwich is stuffed with big chunks of lobster that you would require you to use a fork to be able to eat it. They even put the lobster claws on top. Mixed with perfect amount of mayo - Oh, boy! It's just so good!

I guess I forgot about my subpar chowder from 7 months ago because we ended up here again, lol! A long-standing tradition my spouse and I have is to have some clam chowder while overlooking the bay. That way, you get the full effects that go with Fisherman's Wharf - the crisp ocean breezes, seagull calls, the smell of wood & oil from the pier, and the view of Alcatraz. Heaven for us! Guardino's clam chowder is available in 3 sizes: Cup, pint and quart. Being that we're a party of two and the cup size was too small, we got a quart and split it, which costs $5 less than two pints! This time, the chowder tasted better; more creaminess and was served piping hot. Most of all, props to the lady worker who went above and beyond my request for an empty bowl so we could make a split. She gave us two empty bowls, oyster crackers and even bagged them up for us. Thanks!!!! Great service and with a smile. OVERALL: Add those 2 stars back!

I was one of the many tourists that were walking around Fisherman's Wharf with a clam chowder bread bowl in hand, trying to feed myself spoonfuls in between my steps Not exactly sure why I chose this stand out of the line of chowder and seafood businesses but this one felt right. The seafood in the display case looked amazing and hopefully fresh. The price were almost all the same in this area but this was one of the lowest. Straight to the point. Chowder was delicious, clammy just how I like it. No regrets at all not a single one Oh and the guy in front of me bought a $20 lobster roll... so business must be good. But to assure you, the chowder has the most reasonable price on the menu, right around $8
